target market.
When people are looking for answers, they turn to the Internet and and search engines. Anybody can pay for top positioning through pay per click marketing... but this can get expensive in quickly.
There was a time when people used tricks to get in the top search engine positions, but search engines have gotten smarter. Now, if you try to trick them, your site will be penalized and could even be dropped from the search engines.
You can still get on the first page a search engine naturally for popular keywords if you build an optimized website.
